You know what would be a really cool name for a blog about comment spam? Yup, Iamspeechless.com (or the other four-word variation Thismakesmespeechless.com). I get dozens of these comment spams a week with just those three words and a bunch of irrelevant links.

I’ve been using the BotCheck plugin for WordPress. I have yet to get a spam comment in the past year. Might be worth checking out.

Right now I am using akismet.com to moderate comment spam. It’s caught everything. I like the idea of akismet because it has a centralised catchment system so that it isn’t my job to keep up with new techniques in avoiding systems like akismet. Matt Mullenwegg, the creator of akismet, does it for me.
