Shaved penitent

Worshippers like this man have shaved their heads as a sacrifice to announce the mercifulness of the gods. They also do it to share their thankfulness that the gods have been particularly good to them. Both men and women do this. And like this man (and the short man behind him), they cover their heads with yellow ash.
