Freighter Travel

Travel by sea and land has always fascinated me. Air travel always seemed too easy for me and also seemed too convenient to be considered as actual travelling. So paying passage on a ship -- a work ship -- has to be the ultimate way of travelling that is largely ignored by the mass tourists.

Basically you find a freight travel agent to book you a room on a freight. Freight ships (or cargo ships) always have room for passengers and they go through the most common sea ports. The charge is about USD$50 - $80 per day which isn't unreasonable.

Search google for "freight travel" for more agent options.
